THE HOUSE

A culture
of continuity.

Terrae Caravelli is the viticultural expression of Maison Caravelli. Its identity begins with land and relationships with wine houses, rather than a collection of bottles.

Perspectives on the 19th century

The memory of places.

City plans and engraved façades bring Florence, Naples and Reims into a study of architecture and urban memory.

Period and sources

The editorial treatment draws on Victorian-era editions (1837–1901). The Italian plans of 1835 predate that period. These facsimiles are not records of Terrae land ownership.

Caravelli Costruzioni · Firenze

Florentine origins.

The history of Caravelli Costruzioni begins in Florence in 1948. Restoration established a way of looking at places: understanding their material before deciding how to intervene. Terrae belongs to this family culture, bringing the same attention to vineyard land today.

Firenze · Napoli · Reims

Firenze, Napoli, Reims. Three reference points in the world of the House: Florence’s culture of material, an Italian perspective on landscape and a connection to Champagne. Terrae gives this story its own expression through its vineyards in Italy and Champagne.

Distinct purposes.

Caravelli Costruzioni is dedicated to architecture and restoration. Terrae Caravelli is responsible for the wine-growing activity. Fondazione Caravelli pursues a humanitarian purpose. These identities speak to each other without combining their professions, communications or responsibilities.
